Allianz Cumann na mBunscoil Final 10-10-2014
Review (By: Conor O Sullivan and Graham Slattery – 6th class Glenderry NS)

The match was played in Ardfert pitch between Abbeydorney and Glenderry N.S. Straight from the start it was a good match with Glenderry getting the first point through David O Mahony. Abbeydorney bounced back straight from the kick out with a lovely hand passing movement to score a point. But it wasn’t long before Glenderry’s Conor ‘O’ Sullivan scored a goal. Abbeydorney hit back scoring 1-3. 5 minutes from half-time Glenderry scored 2 points. The half-time score was 1-4 to 1-3 in favour of Abbeydorney. From the start of the second half, it was end-to-end football. In the last minute of added time Glenderry’s hearts nearly stopped when Abbeydorney got a 14 yard free. He pointed it but at that stage it was already over Mikey Clifford the Abbeydorney captain collected his teams medals and Tomas Gaynor the Glenderry captain collected the plaque and medals for his team. It was an excellent, sporting game of football and great credit is due to both teams.

March 2011

On Tuesday March 1st both the boys and girls teams took part in the Mini Sevens Football in Ardfert GAA pitch.  Both teams did the school proud with their performences and effort.  The girls played four matches, all closely contested and had a great victory in one of their games. Well done girls.  The boys team performed very well winning three of their four matches and only loosing by a small margin to Ardfert in the other.   As a result the boys team will now advance to the next stage of the competition.

November 2010

The boys football team had a fantastic win in the Cumann na mBunscol, St. Brendan’s Board Championship. The final was played in wet and windy conditions at Churchill Gaa grounds on Monday November 1st 2010. The final score was Glenderry 9-5 Kilflynn 4-5. It was a tremendous display by the boys, who trailed by 2 points at half time but came back really strong in the second half to record a well deserved victory. Well done to all involved.
